3060 Peachtree Rd STE 100For Tara Widener, real estate has never been simply about buying or selling a house. A home represents a chapter of someone's life—a place where families gather, celebrate, grow, grieve, make memories, and eventually, sometimes, move on. Tara believes her job is to honor that chapter as carefully as if it were her own.
That philosophy has shaped a real estate practice built around two things that don't always go together: highly personal service and thoughtful, data-driven strategy.
An Atlanta resident for more than 37 years and a graduate of the University of Georgia, Tara brings an intimate knowledge of Atlanta's neighborhoods together with an understanding that no two properties—or clients—are exactly alike. Particularly at the upper end of the market, she knows that value isn't determined by price per square foot alone. Architecture, condition, location, lifestyle, scarcity, and, perhaps most importantly, the buyer for that particular property all matter.
When clients hire Tara, they get Tara.
Tara believes exceptional representation requires time, accessibility, and personal involvement. She remains directly engaged in every aspect of her clients' transactions and does not hand clients off to assistants, partners, or team members.
From preparing and positioning a property for market to showings, feedback, negotiations, and closing, Tara is personally involved. For buyers, she brings that same attention to researching value, evaluating opportunities, and negotiating the purchase.
Her clients are never simply one listing in a stack of twenty. They have direct access to the person they hired to represent them.
For sellers, Tara's work begins well before a property reaches the market. She studies what has actually sold, understands the current competition, and develops a pricing and marketing strategy around the property's particular strengths and the buyer most likely to value them. She also helps sellers determine what should—and just as importantly, should not—be done to prepare a home for market.
For buyers, Tara approaches a purchase as though she were spending her own money. She researches the numbers, challenges assumptions, and looks beyond the obvious comparable sales to understand what a property is really worth—and when a rare opportunity may justify paying a premium to secure it.
Tara doesn't believe good representation means always telling a client what they want to hear. It means caring enough to tell them what they need to know.
Before entering real estate, Tara co-founded Go 2 Girls, an “on-demand” personal-assistance company created to make busy clients' lives easier. The business evolved into organizing, staging, decluttering, and managing moves. That experience became a natural foundation for the unusually hands-on service Tara brings to real estate today.
Her clients describe her as hardworking, responsive, proactive, persuasive and honest. She has represented clients across Atlanta and throughout a wide range of price points, from first-time buyers to some of the city's most distinctive luxury properties. Regardless of price, her philosophy remains the same: clients are never a file, and they are never simply a transaction.
Tara's connection to Atlanta extends well beyond real estate. She has served as Chair of the Hope and Will Ball benefiting Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and The Beastly Feast benefiting Zoo Atlanta. She serves on the Board of Directors of Ronald McDonald House Charities in Atlanta and has chaired its Housewarming Gala. She has also volunteered extensively in organizations connected to her daughters and their schools.
Tara and her husband, Mark, have two daughters, Sarah and Meredith, and their family continues to grow with the next generation. When she isn't working with clients, Tara enjoys running, reading, pickleball, mah jong and spending time with her famously ill-behaved French Bulldog, Clark Gable.
For Tara, the greatest compliment isn't simply a successful closing. It's having a client call again when the next chapter begins.
