As the name might suggest, Haynes Manor features some of the most unique architecture and home styles found in any Atlanta neighborhood. The Buckhead community is nestled between Northside Drive and Peachtree Street and just north of Peachtree Creek. Peachtree Battle Avenue, which is named for the Civil War battle that took place on the land, runs through the community that is within walking distance of many beloved Atlanta attractions.
Things to Do
Atlanta’s famous Peachtree Street serves as an eastern border for Haynes Manor which means residents can find several things to do within minutes of their homes. Dozens of restaurants are located within a mile of the area. Some local favorites are Pasta Vino, Imperial Fez, and Whitehall Tavern. The Peachtree Battle Shopping Center is also located just across Peachtree from Haynes Manor. It is home to shops, restaurants, a grocery store, hardware store, and other retail and office spaces. On the southwestern border of the neighborhood, Atlanta Memorial Park provides residents with 199 acres of hiking, playgrounds, open fields, picnic areas, and beautiful green space. The public Bobby Jones Golf Course is the perfect place to relax with a round of golf on the weekend, or for more active residents, the 23-court Bitsy Grant Tennis Center also borders the neighborhood.
In 2013, the average home in Haynes Manor sold for just under $1 million, and almost every residence in the community is worth that amount or more. Many of the homes look as if they were plucked from the French or English countryside and placed on a beautiful green lot in the midst of Atlanta. The lawns are pristine, and the streets are lined with mature-growth trees that are older than the homes that were built mostly in the 1920s. Sidewalks line the streets throughout some of the neighborhood which makes it a great place for a morning jog or a leisurely Sunday afternoon stroll.
Haynes Manor falls within the Atlanta Public Schools district, and students will attend East Rivers Elementary School, Sutton Middle School, and North Atlanta High School, which is home to the oldest International Baccalaureate World program in the Southeast. Buckhead also features some of the Southeast’s most sought-after private schools like Atlanta International School, The Heiskell School, and the Westminster Schools.
