Chastain Park’s new all-day bistro and restaurant, ‘The Chastain,’ officially opened its doors to the public this month. The establishment, known formerly as Horseradish Grill, has been under renovation since February, and now features a U-shaped bar, chic vertical channel leather booths, and floor-to-ceiling iron windows with exposed stone. Siegel Construction & Design expertly transformed the space, opening up the floor plan to allow more natural light and easier access to the restaurant’s multiple patios.
Functioning as a café from 7 a.m. through late lunch, the Chastain offers counter-service orders for coffee, pastries, breakfast sandwiches, light lunch options, and dinner begins at 5 p.m. Outdoor seating is in abundance, making it a popular spot right now despite the cooling temperatures. The cozy Adirondack chairs around the fire pit are definitely a customer favorite at the moment. The dining room capacity is currently limited, but don’t worry — there is ample outdoor seating beneath the historic oak tree on the terrace; currently open without reservations during morning hours.
Former Atlas Chef, Christopher Grossman, has completely reinvented the menu, along with notorious pastry chef Christian Castillo and executive sous chef Jessica Mullice. Described as the ‘New American Bistro,’ the restaurant sources most of the ingredients for their dishes straight from their garden on the same property.
The Chastain, originally a country store along the once unpaved Powers Ferry Road, will now intertwine into the story of the iconic establishment’s history.
Open Monday – Saturday, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. & 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Masks are required when not seated. | 4320 Powers Ferry Road NW, Atlanta — The Chastain
