As one of the most affluent districts in Georgia, Buckhead receives a lot of attention from people and businesses alike looking to buy property. Widely considered to be one of the Southeast’s most sought-after shopping destinations, the neighborhood also features stunning mansions and apartments as well as exciting nightlife. This Atlanta hub is busy evolving into an even more attractive area for singles, families, and professionals looking to buy an in-town home. What’s New in Shopping
Buckhead Atlanta, a comprehensive development dreamed up by Oliver McMillan that opened this past fall, has created plenty of buzz in the community. Now, six more luxury retailers are slated to open at Buckhead Atlanta throughout the Spring and Summer, including Billy Reid, Davidoff of Geneva since 1911, Vilebrequin, Jonathan Adler, Les Copains, and Ferguson Bath, Lighting & Kitchen Gallery.
Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza are also renovating and inviting additional vendors. Lenox Square has updated its look and added luxury retailers like Topshop/Topman, while Phipps’ new interior and exterior facade will officially debut later this year.
Exciting New Restaurants and Bars
Buckhead is famous for its bars, clubs, and restaurants. However, Zagat has selected one Buckhead newcomer as a standout — Gypsy Kitchen. Gypsy Kitchen opened its doors this past October, allowing patrons to feel right at home while also providing a dash of exotic flair. Located at Peachtree and Buckhead Ave, this Moor-themed restaurant features open-air patio lounge seating, live music, and a stunning 360-degree wraparound indoor/outdoor bar. Classic, flavorful Spanish cuisine paired with delicious drinks and tapas has secured Gypsy Kitchen’s place in Buckhead’s already invigorating bar scene.
Green Space
Many Buckhead residents remember the fire damage inflicted upon the Garden Hills Shopping Center over a year ago. Site owner Brand Properties has torn down the old building and is replacing it with a far more attractive green space. While the permanency of the new landscape may not be guaranteed for the future should new tenants come along to build on it, Brand Properties has invested in making the spot more scenic for now by adding more than a dozen new trees and shrubs, as well as a retention pond.
