Inside the Tiny House of KREWE

Inside the Tiny House of KREWE

New Orleans-based eyewear company, KREWE, has officially taken up residency in the BuckheadWhole Foods parking lot. Situated perfectly for exposure to those driving on W Paces Ferry Road, the bright white 155 sq. ft. pop-up shop is an exact replica of a shotgun home; a nod to New Orleans and historic architecture. KREWE seems to be betting out the Buckhead market…again. Are they here to stay this time? We popped into the ‘pop-up ’ ourselves to get some answers!

Q&A with KREWE

How is Buckhead doing in terms of responsiveness to the KREWE brand? Are you thinking of permanently opening a store?

“Atlanta has always been a great city for us. This is the fourth time we’ve been in the city since 2018. We always look forward to returning and hope to stay longer this time!”

How many pop-up tiny houses do you currently have out testing the market right now?

“We currently have five tiny homes open in Austin, Atlanta, Dallas, DC, and Nashville. We also have two permanent brick-and-mortar stores in New Orleans and one in NYC.”

What is the inspiration behind the design of KREWE’S tiny houses?

“We tapped into the classic New Orleans architecture to create a unique mobile shopping experience that gives KREWE the ability to adapt and be where the customer is throughout the year. Our mobile boutique is the company’s modern take on the city’s iconic shotgun-style homes.”

How did the city of New Orleans influence the original concept behind the creation of KREWE eyewear?

“I’m inspired visually by New Orleans and by musicians and music or various periods of time in music. KREWE would not be where we are today without the ST. LOUIS collection of frames. The design was inspired by the wrought iron balconies of the French Quarter, which makes it special and uniquely New Orleans!"

If you had to name one thing that KREWE has an advantage over other eyewear companies in the market, what would it be?

“KREWE’s philosophy is to make modern frames that represent YOU in a unique way. Our styling and design set KREWE apart! Specifically the color because we design our own acetates. Fit, a very wearable product, frames that you can’t find elsewhere – these are all important to the brand.”

You’ve been recognized by Forbes Magazine and have countless A-list celebs being spotted wearing your eyewear…what’s next?

“2021 is going to be an exciting year for KREWE and those who follow the brand! Just within the first month of the year, we introduced new frame families (AVO & MYLES, to name a few) and are excited to introduce new colors for popular frames like ST. LOUIS and COLLINS! There is more newness coming out – follow our social media channels for the exciting announcements!”
