ATLANTA – The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Patron Party to honor corporate sponsors and special contributors was held Oct. 2 at the Buckhead home of Beacham & Company, REALTORS® founder and President Glennis Beacham.
More than 75 benefactors and friends of the ASO attended the annual precursor to the 2007 Atlanta Symphony Ball, which will be held Nov. 17 at the InterContinental Hotel Buckhead.
The Symphony Ball is the ASO’s premier fundraising event with all proceeds benefiting the ASO’s Learning Community programs, including the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Talent Development Program.
ASO event chairwoman Victoria Palefsky unveiled the newest item donated to the live auction – an all-inclusive trip for two to Beijing for the 2008 Olympic Games. Other previously announced items to be auctioned at the Symphony Ball include a trip for two to Cayo Espanto, a private island resort off the coast of Belize, and a Mikimoto pearl bracelet and earrings, which were modeled at the Patron Party by ASO benefactor Lelia Brougher.
The 2007 Symphony Ball will transport patrons to “La Vie en Rose” – a time when Edith Piaf dominated the cabarets and Paris emerged as the City of Light. The event will honor ASO Director of Choruses Norman Mackenzie, who has led the chorus and soloists to garner five Grammy Awards©.
Mackenzie and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will perform as part of the evening’s festivities. Patron Party hostess Glennis Beacham has been a patron of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for more than 12 years. Palefsky called Beacham a dedicated supporter and passionate friend of the Symphony whose contributions have significantly contributed to the success of the ASO.
