One of Atlanta’s most northern neighborhoods, the sought-after Chastain Park community attracts new residents each year for dozens of reasons. The park the community is named for alone is well-worth calling the Buckhead neighborhood home. Prestigious public and private schools, proximity to the headquarters of some of the top employers in the Atlanta area, and unlimited recreational opportunities are just a few of Chastain Park’s attractions.
Things to Do
Chastain Park is located in the heart of the neighborhood. Residents and visitors alike enjoy over 268 acres of green space, ball fields, trails, swimming, tennis, golf, and equestrian activities. One of Atlanta’s most popular concert venues, Chastain Amphitheater, also sits within the boundaries of the community. Each year, some of the hottest names in music and the Atlanta Sympathy Orchestra play there. Children who live in the area can play baseball, softball, football, or basketball with one of Atlanta’s most popular youth sports leagues. Though, most of Chastain Park is made up of the park and beautiful residential areas, it is also home to the popular Horseradish Grill restaurant.
According to Forbes magazine, Chastain Park is one of the wealthiest neighborhoods in the country. As you might expect, this means some of the finest luxury living in the country, as well. Homes start around $400,000 and range up to around $3 million, depending on what you are looking for. Properties are usually wooded and private, whether you choose to live in a multi-million dollar estate or a traditional modern home. Some condos are also available in the Chastain Park area.
The Atlanta Public School System serves most of Chastain Park, including the highly-ranked National Blue Ribbon School and Georgia School of Excellence, Warren T. Jackson Elementary School. Some parts of the community are within the Fulton County School District which means students will attend some of the popular charter schools in Atlanta’s neighbor to the north, Sandy Springs. While several world-famous private schools are located in the area, Chastain Park has its very own located within its boundaries and within walking distance to many of its homes: The Galloway School.
Life in Chastain Park
Life in Chastain Park has both urban and suburban appeal. Commuters can be in Downtown or Midtown Atlanta in minutes, and professionals can also travel a few minutes north to Sandy Springs to work at the headquarters for companies like IBM and Cisco. As for recreational opportunities, the community cannot be beat. Families with young children love spending their weekends swimming or playing ball in the park, and at the end of the day, adults can cozy up under the stars while they take in a concert at the amphitheater.
