$1.3 Million Donated to ‘Get Our Kids Connected’ Campaign

Just after school closures were announced, Atlanta Public Schools launched the “Get Our Kids Connected” campaign, and last week, Atlanta-based owner of the New York Stock Exchange graciously donated a whopping $1.3 million dollars to APS. In an effort to assist students who do not have access to internet or laptops, this gift comes from Intercontinental Exchange who operates financial marketplaces.

Continuing students education at home is every school’s top priority at the moment. With uncertain times ahead, they are prepping for worst case scenario come August. Atlanta Public Schools have been raising money to pay for laptops and internet for weeks now, so this comes in a definite time of need. The district has already raised $350,000, and another $2.2 from a federal grant.
