Plan the Perfect Summer Soirée

If you’ve always adored throwing parties and never thrown a summer soirée, now is the perfect opportunity! Whether it’s a chill hangout night or an all out party, we have put together some tips, decorating ideas and drink recipes so you can pull off a killer summer party.

| FLOWER POWER | party in bloom

A summer soiree isn’t complete without an abundance of flowers. There is no need to spend a fortune at the florists for these, hit Trader Joe’s or a Farmers Market early in the morning to get the best of the bunch for cheap. Wrapping flowers and fillers around a stick and hanging above the table is a great idea, and you can easily find a branch in your own backyard.

Instead of doing the basic flower in vase, go for something more creative that your guests are sure to remember -like in a basket, a non-traditional container or simply just a pretty flower arrangement by itself.

| FOOD | perfect pairings

Platters and light bites are your best friend. Using wooden boards and large plates you already have, fill them up with your favorite prosciutto and salami cuts, array of cheeses, nuts, fig jam and honeycomb. Cutting up different types of fruit and arranging them by color adds a fun decorative element to the food. You can find beautiful reclaimed boards here.

| DRINKS | beat the heat

As the temperature climbs, so does the need for a chilled cocktail. When throwing a party you want to have the essentials; gin, vodka, bourbon and tequila. Cheers to summer cocktail recipes like blackberry gin tonics, blood orange citrus and blueberry lime spritzers. Click on the photos to view the recipe!

| TABLE & SEATING |

For a smaller space, a long skinny table, or picnic table would fit best, giving ample seating room and also a lot of space to display food. Setting up a long coffee table, or even two, and incorporating moroccan seat pillows on the grass would create a fantastic ambiance. Add some string lights to either the trees or terrace roof to make it cozy as the sun goes down.
