Beacham & Company, Realtors posted a company-record month for number of homes sold and dollar volume closed in July while also out-performing the rest of the Atlanta real estate market by a whopping margin.
Current data supplied by the local MLS suggests the number of home sales in July was down substantially (6.7%) from July 2013 although some sales from late last month have not yet been reported. In contrast, Beacham & Company sales were up 44.1% in July from a year ago and dollar volume closed was up 13.8%.

Beacham & Company’s average sales price in July was just shy of $800,000, by far the highest of any other real estate firm in Atlanta and nearly $500,000 more than the July average home sales price for the entire market ($293,244). The July average sales price for Atlanta represented a 8.1% increase from a year ago and extended a nearly two-year run of month-over-month increases. The average sales price in Atlanta is now closer than it has ever been to the all-time, pre-housing bust highs of 2007 thanks to a continued lack of adequate inventory (although inventory is up 20% from a year ago).
In Buckhead, the number of home sales was down 22.1% last month. The average sales price of Buckhead homes was up an astounding 23% however, as sellers took advantage of the acute inventory environment.
“In many price ranges, sellers are fetching prices that were unfathomable just 18 months ago,” Carver said. “There are still far more buyers out there than sellers. We expect this fall to be busier than most as sellers try to take advantage of current conditions while they last.”
