Fox Theatre Coca Cola Summer Film Festival 2012

The Fox Theater is one of Atlanta’s most historical landmarks. Built by architect Olivier Vinour in 1929, the theater is famous for its presentation of the Atlanta Ballet and countless Broadway shows. Not to mention, the venue also hosts several concerts each year featuring a variety of the world’s best artists. With 4,678 seats, the auditorium is also home to the Coca Cola Summer Film Festival, playing world renowned films that withstand the test of time and are responsible for altering the world of film forever.  Before every showing, the Fox shows several classic cartoons that will bring you to tears with laughter.

Tonight, Friday July 20th at 8:00 pm, the Fox Theater is presenting Deliverance, an American thriller released by Warner Bros in 1972 about a group of four businessmen who take a canoe trip down a North Georgia river and run into a series of obstacles. Prior to the showing, Ed Spivia, Georgia’s first film commissioner, and Charles Bethea will be discussing the history of Deliverance and its role in establishing the Georgia film industry.
