Where Buckhead meets Sandy Springs, Atlanta’s first suburb to the north, you’ll find the small, upscale neighborhood of High Point. The community is very convenient to Georgia 400 via either Windsor Parkway or Glenridge Drive, which means you can be in the heart of Sandy Springs or the heart of Buckhead in just minutes. It’s also just across the highway from the city of Brookhaven.
Things to Do
Several popular restaurants are located near the High Point neighborhood, including Wok N Roll, Food 101, and 5 Seasons Brewing Company. Golfers living in High Point delight in the fact that the prestigious Capital City Country Club, as well as the Peachtree Golf Club are just minutes away in Brookhaven. The 268-acre Chastain Park is located just minutes west of High Point. It is home to walking paths, tennis courts, playgrounds, a golf course, a pool, a horse park, and an Atlanta icon, the Chastain Amphitheater. The amphitheater hosts concerts by top artists and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra throughout the summer. High Point is just a few minutes north of Buckhead’s legendary shopping malls, Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, which are home to some of the top designer boutiques in the world. Of course, that means High Point is also just a few minutes north of Buckhead’s trendy nightlife and places like Tongue and Groove and the Havana Club.
Homes in High Point tend to be newer than those in the surrounding neighborhoods with many being built over the last decade. They sit on larger, half-acre lots and quiet cul-de-sac roads. In 2013, the average High Point residence sold for just over $550,000. High Point Manor is one of the most popular neighborhoods in the community.
Because High Point is not within Atlanta’s city limits, public school students will attend Fulton County Schools. Most homes can be found in the district for High Point Elementary School, Ridgeview Charter School, and the highly coveted Riverwood High School. The Greenfield Hebrew Academy sits inside the neighborhood. Many prestigious private schools are also located nearby, such as The Galloway School and Holy Spirit Preparatory School.
Life in High Point
High Point residents sit on the cusp of Atlanta and its suburbs, providing the neighborhood with the best of both worlds. Because Sandy Springs is also a major business hub, commuters can travel in either direction for work. It’s also a great destination for families. The schools in the area are top-notch, and because most of the roads are cul-de-sacs, the neighborhoods see less traffic than many others in the area.
