Ardmore Park is a small neighborhood located right in the heart of Atlanta. To its west is Tanyard Creek, a 14-acre park considered to be one of the city’s most beautiful, and to its north is the award-winning Piedmont Hospital. To its south is 75/85, the connector where two of Georgia’s major interstates meet, and to its east is Atlanta’s famed Peachtree Street.
Things to Do
Because Ardmore Park sits right off Peachtree, there is no shortage of restaurants, shops, and art galleries in the area. Buckhead’s famed Bennett Street Design District is almost within walking distance of the neighborhood, and it is the ideal spot to shop for antiques or check out the work of some of the city’s most popular artists and craftsmen. Notable restaurants like Ted’s Montana Grill, Watershed, and R. Thomas Deluxe Grill sit within the neighborhood’s parameters. Despite its quiet atmosphere, Ardmore Park is five minutes or less away from Midtown and Buckhead’s shopping, entertainment, and nightlife.
The word “quaint” is often used to describe Ardmore Park. It’s not as big as other Buckhead neighborhoods, and the houses aren’t quite as expensive, but many people believe this is what makes the neighborhood special. Like nearby Collier Hills, homes tend to range from mid-century ranch and cottage styles to modern traditional homes built over the last decade or two, and many of them sit on wooded lots with beautiful landscaping. There are also numerous condos and apartments available along Peachtree. The average home in Ardmore Park costs between $300,000 and $800,000.
Ardmore Park is home to one of Atlanta’s most popular playgrounds and picnic spots, but that’s not the only thing that attracts families to the area. The proximity to top-notch private and public schools can’t be beat. Public school students attend North Atlanta High School, E. Rivers Elementary School and Sutton Middle School. Just a few miles north of the neighborhood are some of Buckhead’s finest private schools like Atlanta International School and to the south are some of Midtown’s finest private institutions like Paideia School. Nationally recognized colleges like Georgia State University and Emory University are just a few miles away, as well.
Life in Ardmore Park
Ardmore Park is popular with younger generations who are raising a family and looking for a nice yard and a safe place to walk and ride bikes. It is also popular with young single who want an affordable place to call home that is close to work in one of Atlanta’s business districts and the city’s bustling nightlife. It may be quaint, but it’s also cozy and convenient which is why new residents continue to move to the community each year.
