Beacham & Company, REALTORS recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and another record sales year with a gala at one of Buckhead’s hottest party venues, The Stave Room at American Spirit Works. More than 250 revelers danced to the sounds of Atlanta’s hottest party band, Papa Sol. The short video above features sights and sounds from the event.
Beacham & Company was founded in 2006 by one of Atlanta’s most celebrated real estate agents, Glennis Beacham, and has grown in homes and dollar volume sold every year of its existence (more than 600%). The firm achieved an all time record in both homes sold and dollar volume sold in 2016 and exceeded all-time monthly sales records in 8 out of 12 months.
Ms. Beacham recalled what it was like after she made the decision to leave Atlanta’s largest real estate firm as its top selling selling agent for 13 consecutive years: “We started the company on my dining room table in my new home, which was still under construction. We had temporary power and heat but we were excited. Our company was tiny at first, and we were able to grow through the downturn.
“Our core group remains with us today, and we continue to enjoy the platform we built. It provides an incredible base for our agents to grow their business. Our primary objective has and always will be to help our agents become more successful.”
Since its inception, Beacham & Company agents have sold more by dollar volume than any other agents in Atlanta. The average sold per agent was nearly $6 million in 2016 while the top nine closest competitors averaged less than $2.5 million per agent. The firm’s office is the top selling in Atlanta by dollar volume of single family detached homes sold and has the highest average sales price in the state (nearly $750,000).
Dac Carver, Vice President and Managing Broker of Beacham, added, “we are extremely proud of what our agents have done but we are also looking ahead. We have very exciting things planned this year that will help us continue to grow the business.”

With even doctors recommending a few glasses of wine a day, more and more homeowners are choosing to embrace their love of wine by adding a wine cellar to their home. While the traditional rules of temperature, humidity and light control still apply, we have a few additional suggestions to follow when you are looking to make a modern wine cellar.
While your wine cellar is certainly an investment in your home, it is not going to be a selling point for every buyer. Because of this, we recommend that you make the decisions on how much space it should take and how many bottles it will store based upon your own personal collection needs. Your cellar could be as small as an unused nook or as big as your entire basement—just make sure it fits what you are looking for. Continue Reading

Winship Cancer Institute of Emory is an organization dedicated to cancer research. In July, the organization was ranked one of the best programs in the nation by US News & World Report for the fifth year in a row. The honor was well deserved, as Winship has played a crucial role in saving many lives affected by the disease. The organization is Georgia’s only National Cancer Institute Designated Cancer Center and because of this, Winship serves as the coordinating center for a vast array of resources in medical, surgical, radiation oncology, diagnostic imagining and the subspecialties of cancer care throughout the southeast.
Beacham & Company feels very strongly about this cause and to show their support, the firm is taking part in the Winship Win the Fight 5k, an annual walk/run dedicated to raising money for cancer research. On Saturday, October 5th, the company will join hundreds of others to support this amazing program. Beacham invites you to donate and/or join their team. If you can’t participate in the event, but would still like to contribute to the cause, the event welcomes what they call “Sleep-in” Warriors, allowing those who can’t physically be at the race to register and raise money for a team.
In last week’s sales meeting owner and founder, Glennis Beacham, reminded the firm that “there is not a single person whose life has not been affected by cancer in some way. Either you have had cancer, someone close to you has or you know someone whose life has been forever changed because of it.” No one will ever dispute that statement. Help the firm and Winship Cancer Institute win the fight against this horrible disease.

Beacham & Company is proud to welcome Linda Finsthwait. In a city known as the melting pot of the South, it’s hard to find a true native, but Linda it the quintessential example of someone who was born and raised in this city. This Atlanta baby graduated from Lovett and has lived in almost every neighborhood including Sandy Springs, Haynes Manor, Huntingdon Park, Springlake Lane, and Vinings. Her entertaining story is proof that life might take us on lots of twists and turns, but in the end, we end up exactly where we’re meant to be.
With her vast knowledge and personal experience of the city, it seems like pursuing a career in Atlanta real estate would be a no brainer, but it was actually a simple twist of fate that led her to the industry.
“I got into real estate because a good friend was taking the pre-licence course and she didn’t like it. She couldn’t get a refund, but the school allowed me to take her place. I didn’t have enough money to pay for the course myself. I borrowed $3,000 from my father for start up expenses and I paid him back 6 months later from my first closing,” she explained.
While Linda is definitely an Atlanta staple, her resume does not lack worldliness. After working as a tour guide at “Presenting Atlanta Tours” in the mid to late 1970s, she had outgrown Atlanta and began leading high school tours to Europe and safaris to Africa, a pastime she continued until 2006.
“It was my passion and avocation!” she said when describing her love for leading tours.
In 1981, she began her journey in Atlanta real estate at Harry Norman Realtors. “At the time, mortgage rates hovered around 20%,” Linda explains. Clearly, she’s been in the industry long enough to watch the housing market go through several transformations. Finally, she was persuaded to follow the lead of some of her former coworkers when she joined Beacham & Company in February of 2013.
“I have always highly respected Glennis more than anything. I like the atmosphere in the office. I liked everything I have always heard about Dac and I have several very close friends who are agents in the office, who love working at Beacham.”
Linda is married to Mike Stone, a CPA and Atlanta native. Their story is almost as inspiring as a Nicolas Sparks novel. The two were high school sweethearts who reconnected almost exactly 30 years after their first date. Both had two children of their own when they got married including Todd Stone, Linda’s step son, and the other half of her Beacham team.
Linda has a genuine spirit and a sincere passion for her clients, her job, her family, and life; a quality that can’t be manufactured. She takes every step of the buying and selling process seriously and handles her business with the utmost care.

Happy Heart Day from Beacham & Company!
Atlanta native, Todd Stone, grew up learning the twists and turns of the city. While many call Atlanta’s unconventional layout, confusing, this resident of more than 30 years calls it home. For High School, Todd attended the prestigious Lovett Schools located in the Buckhead/Vinings area and went on to earn a degree in Finance at the University of Georgia’s esteemed Terry College of Business. In 2005, following graduation, Todd began his career in residential real estate sales. With over $60 million in solds, saying he has been successful would be an understatement.
After being persuaded by two former colleagues who signed on with Beacham & Companies several years back, Todd decided to follow suit. It was the satisfaction of both customers and agents that were involved with the firm that drew him in.
“I chose Beacham because of the people and the standard that they hold themselves to.” Todd explained.
Todd is a dedicated to helping his clients find the perfect home; he realizes that in this city, that means more than the house itself, but the neighborhood, as well. He understands that the process of buying/selling a home can be daunting and is committed to making every transaction as hassle-free as possible. His vast knowledge of the city combined with his background in finance gives him a unique edge and his clients an advantage when buying and selling real estate.
Currently, Todd lives in Peachtree Hills, an area he speaks very highly of. “I love the convenience to shops, restaurants, highways, etc.” Beacham & Company is excited to have Todd as an addition to the team, and the company looks forward to being a part of his success in Atlanta real estate.
