Nobu Groundbreaking Underway at Phipps Plaza

With the increased demand for luxury real estate in Buckhead, construction has been booming, there’s no doubt about it. Fortune 500 companies are flocking to Atlanta, more specifically tech startups. In addition, we have become the “Hollywood of the South” for movie and TV production ever since previous governor, Sonny Perdue, signed a ‘generous’ tax inventive for film production. Atlanta has since served as a music production hub for decades, but now Hollywood actors and actresses are also beginning to make this city their home. Atlanta is rapidly solidifying its place as an elite city.

Further defining Atlanta as a luxurious location is the opening of a Nobu hotel and restaurant in Phipps Plaza. Nobu Hotels is parterning with Simon Property Group to create and launch the hotel and restaurant in this already mixed-use development. Phipps is a conglomeration of couture designer store brands with delectable eateries to match. It’s hard to imagine a more sophisticated center, but the introduction of Nobu will create an even more lavish destination. Nobu is a luxury Japanese brand whose hotels and restaurants can be found in places like London, Malibu, Ibiza, and New York City. It’s almost a status symbol for the top notch cities of the world – and now Atlanta is joining the ranks. This Phipps Plaza expansion will also include a brand new Life Time® Athletic and a 12-story Class A office building with three-story lower level parking garage.

The first phase is set to open beginning of Summer 2021.
