Beacham Welcomes Mark Sargent as Sales Associate!

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Mark Sargent moved to Atlanta when he was two months old.  After spending a few years in Cherokee and Cobb Counties, Mark’s family moved to the Chastain area of Buckhead, where Mark attended Tuxedo Elementary School, while his father served as the pastor of Sardis Methodist Church on Powers Ferry Road. Later in his childhood, his family moved to Augusta, where Mark finished high school and attended college.

During his college years at then-Augusta College, where Mark majored in English Literature, he worked in the radio business as an announcer and as the Student Pastor of a small church near Augusta.  Following graduation, Mark attended the Candler School of Theology of Emory University, finishing with a Master of Divinity degree, after which he spent the next three decades as a United Methodist pastor, a credential which he still holds.  During his ministry in Augusta, Rome, and Atlanta, Mark led his congregations to significant growth in mission. Mark also holds a Master of Arts degree in Psychology, earned during his career as a parish pastor.

In 2011, Mark entered the private sector, traveling the country and the world as a consultant and trainer before entering Real Estate with another Atlanta brokerage.  In January of 2019, he joined Beacham & Company, REALTORS®. He is grateful to have joined the esteemed group of REALTORS® assembled by Glennis Beacham.

Since following his father around the Bobby Jones and Chastain Park Golf Courses as a small child, Mark has been in love with the game of golf.  While his handicap is not scratch like it was for a long time, he hopes to get there again! In case you’re wondering, he has played the Augusta National and maintains a National Membership at The Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, South Carolina, one of the country’s most historic golf clubs.

Golf is not the only thing Mark likes to do from scratch!  He has long loved to play with food and wine, and he loves nothing more than preparing good food for those he is honored to join him at the table.  He loves food of all kinds but has a deep affinity for spice, leading him often to the cuisines of Mexico, The American Southwest, Thailand, and India, among others. Because he loves to eat, he has to run, so Mark also enjoys jaunts along the banks of the ‘Hooch.

Mark is married to Amy Little, one of the most sought-after singers in the Atlanta area.  When she is not teaching voice, she is performing, and Mark loves it when he can proudly watch Amy perform with The Atlanta Opera or any of the other many venues where she shares her gift.

Mark is the parent of three grown children, and he is “Mugs” to his eight grandchildren.

He pledges to bring his insight and experience, his compassion and care, to every client with whom he is privileged to work.
