Introducing: Linda Finsthwait

T87C8865 - Version 2Beacham & Company is proud to welcome Linda Finsthwait. In a city known as the melting pot of the South, it’s hard to find a true native, but Linda it the quintessential example of someone who was born and raised in this city. This Atlanta baby graduated from Lovett and has lived in almost every neighborhood including Sandy Springs, Haynes Manor, Huntingdon Park, Springlake Lane, and Vinings. Her entertaining story is proof that life might take us on lots of twists and turns, but in the end, we end up exactly where we’re meant to be.

With her vast knowledge and personal experience of the city, it seems like pursuing a career in Atlanta real estate would be a no brainer, but it was actually a simple twist of fate that led her to the industry.

“I got into real estate because a good friend was taking the pre-licence course and she didn’t like it. She couldn’t get a refund, but the school allowed me to take her place. I didn’t have enough money to pay for the course myself. I borrowed $3,000 from my father for start up expenses and I paid him back 6 months later from my first closing,” she explained.

While Linda is definitely an Atlanta staple, her resume does not lack worldliness. After working as a tour guide at “Presenting Atlanta Tours” in the mid to late 1970s, she had outgrown Atlanta and began leading high school tours to Europe and safaris to Africa, a pastime she continued until 2006.

“It was my passion and avocation!” she said when describing her love for leading tours.

In 1981, she began her journey in Atlanta real estate at Harry Norman Realtors. “At the time, mortgage rates hovered around 20%,” Linda explains. Clearly, she’s been in the industry long enough to watch the housing market go through several transformations. Finally, she was persuaded to follow the lead of some of her former coworkers when she joined Beacham & Company in February of 2013.

“I have always highly respected Glennis more than anything. I like the atmosphere in the office. I liked everything I have always heard about Dac and I have several very close friends who are agents in the office, who love working at Beacham.”

Linda is married to Mike Stone, a CPA and Atlanta native. Their story is almost as inspiring as a Nicolas Sparks novel. The two were high school sweethearts who reconnected almost exactly 30 years after their first date. Both had two children of their own when they got married including Todd Stone, Linda’s step son, and the other half of her Beacham team.

Linda has a genuine spirit and a sincere passion for her clients, her job, her family, and life; a quality that can’t be manufactured. She takes every step of the buying and selling process seriously and handles her business with the utmost care.
