Beacham & Company donates Christmas toys for needy families at the Genesis Shelter!

Who says Santa has to wear a red suit and have a belly? Every year, Beacham & Company agents sponsor several families at the Genesis Shelter by bringing Christmas to them. This year, the firm raised $2,500 to provide gifts for the very deserving families. Beacham agents Rachel Farmer, Ross Kotkin, Kim Foley, and Vice President Dac Carver are pictured dropping the presents off at the shelter.

Beacham & Company is proud to be a supporter of the Genesis Shelter, an Atlanta nonprofit committed to changing the lives of families in need. Their mission is to “provide a supportive environment that enables homeless newborns and their families to achieve positive life outcomes for this generation and those to come.” The organization started in 1994 when Rabbi Alvin Sugarman and Rev. Joanna Adams recognized that not every woman is lucky enough to experience the excitement of bringing their newborn home for the first time. For many women leaving the hospital, home is either the streets or their cars. Sugarman and Adams brought together a coalition of faith based organizations to address this issue and the Genesis Shelter was born (click here to see a list of organizations involved).

Beacham’s first big project with the Genesis Shelter was their common area. The firm raised more than $18,000 for the endeavor, including a major donation from Beacham agent Ginger Scott.  With the help of talented interior designer, Laura Green, owner of L. Green Studios,  the room – where so many Genesis Shelter families spend most of their time at the shelter – was given a refreshing facelift. Not only did Beacham agents donate to the cause, they were hands on throughout the entire project. Look at what a phenomenal job they did!

Here are some of the Beacham agents who helped!

Since its doors opened, the Genesis Shelter has directly changed the lives of 3,000 individuals in 1,200 families, but the difference their ripples will make in the future is immeasurable. By setting these people on a new life path, they have not only changed their stars, but they have positively redirected the path of future generations to come. The impact of the Genesis Shelter stretches far beyond those who have been through the program, the lives of those who have been lucky enough to lend a hand in the success of this phenomenal organization have been touched, as well.

Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year from Beacham & Company!
