Introducing: Barbara de Courcy-Ireland

Barbara de Courcy-Ireland

Barbara de Courcy-Ireland brings a refreshing new perspective to Beacham & Company. Originally from Belgium, she grew up the youngest of seven with a surgeon father and very busy stay-at-home mother. Being a part of such a large family, Barbara learned the value of teamwork and self-awareness  early on. Her parents were big believers in an outdoors lifestyle; they lived in the countryside with horses, dogs, cats, sheep, and chickens! It was this house that sparked her love of real estate.

“My favorite home growing up was my childhood home. We had chores to do, but most of all, had a lot of fun as afamily right there, in and around our home. So for me, a home is so much more than a house. It’s a sanctuary, it’s your roots, it’s the place where as a child you build your childhood memories.”

Barbara expanded her natural communication skills at the University of Louvain, Belgium, where she earned a Masters in Languages and Communications. She is fluent in five languages: English, French, Dutch, German and Spanish. Her international experience and multilingual profile have exposed her to a wide variety of personalities. It is this unique dimension that allows Barbara to connect with people of all different nationalities and backgrounds in their search for the perfect home.

In 1998, Barbara and her husband moved to Columbus, Georgia, where they ran a large retail and commercial flooring operation together. They made the move to Atlanta in 2008. Their three children, now, attend Woodward Academy, where Barbara is very involved in the parent community. Currently, they live in the countryside, in Chatt Hills, close to Serenbe. The setting reminds her of where she came from and gives her a daily taste of home.

“I decided to pursue real estate because as an agent you are involved in one of the most important decisions people make for themselves and their families. I am honored to be involved in their search for that special place. Moreover, Atlanta is such a diverse city and there truly is a neighborhood for everyone’s taste and budget.”

Combining her business instincts, her European flair and her passion for home design and home ownership, she decided to pursue a career in real estate in 2011. She is determined to help buyers and sellers realize their real estate dreams, by providing stellar service and advice in today’s complex market.
