ATLANTA – Beacham & Company, Realtors® recently sponsored the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s annual fundraising Kick-Off Party at a newly-completed French Provincial-style estate in Buckhead.
The party marked the beginning of annual fundraising activities for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO), and more than 100 patrons and friends of the ASO were in attendance. Guests were treated to heavy hors d’oeuvres and music from the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra against the backdrop of authentic French art and architecture.
During a short presentation, ASO President Allison Vulgamore discussed highlights of the ASO’s 2007- 2008 season, including the opening of the new Verizon Wireless Amphitheater and Robert Spano’s award for Conductor of the Year by Musical America.
Gail Starr, the 2008 Symphony Ball Chairperson, informed guests of the 15th anniversary of the Talent Development Program. The Talent Development Program was established in 1993 to help prepare African-American and Latino students for conservatory, college or university-level study by providing instruction, mentoring, and performance opportunities.
Starr concluded the presentation by recognizing Honoree Chair Azira Hill “whose legacy of volunteer leadership, dedication and vision, inspired the formation of the Talent Development Program (TDP) of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.”
The $5.6 million estate where the party was held is a Beacham & Company listing that was designed by William T. Baker and built by Young & Meathe Properties.
