2009 Georgia Home Buyer Tax Credit

For closings that occurred through November 2009, the State of Georgia offered homebuyers a tax credit of $1,800 (or 1.2 percent of the purchase price, whichever is less).

The Georgia credit was not limited to first-time homebuyers, and there were no applicable income limits. The credit was only available to buyers of eligible single family residences who closed between June 1 and November 30, 2009.

The Georgia homebuyer tax credit has expired and no purchases after November 30, 2009 are eligible.
